Weather Changes in Rajasthan: Rain Likely in Several Parts, Jaipur Sees Cloud Cover

Jaipur, February 2 : Rajasthan is witnessing another shift in weather conditions, with light cloud cover and winds affecting several cities. This has resulted in a drop in daytime temperatures, bringing mild cold conditions. A new western disturbance is expected to become active, leading to the possibility of light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in some parts of the state on February 3-4. The nighttime temperature in 14 cities of the state fell below 10°C, with Mount Abu and Lunkaransar recording temperatures below 5°C. A tragic incident occurred in Bhusawar, Bharatpur, where a woman lost her life due to burns caused by a bonfire she had lit to stay warm.

According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, two successive western disturbances are currently influencing the state’s weather. As a result, the weather conditions are changing, and a new western disturbance, expected to become active on February 3, is likely to bring light rainfall with thunderstorms in certain areas of the state on February 3-4. On Sunday, several cities observed light cloud cover and moderate winds, leading to a decrease in daytime temperatures. In Jaipur, Sikar, and Alwar, cold winds in the afternoon further increased the chill. While the weather remained dry across the state, humidity levels ranged between 50% and 100%.

Among the state’s cities, Chittorgarh recorded the highest daytime temperature at 27.8°C, while Barmer had the warmest night at 13.8°C. Conversely, Mount Abu experienced the coldest night at 3.4°C.

Jaipur Weather Update

On Sunday, Jaipur experienced scattered clouds and light to moderate winds, causing a decline in daytime temperatures. Jaipur recorded a one-degree drop in maximum temperature and a 1.9-degree rise in minimum temperature, with maximum and minimum temperatures standing at 25°C and 15.7°C, respectively. Weather forecasts indicate the possibility of light rainfall or drizzle in various parts of Jaipur on Monday and Tuesday.

Earthquake Tremors Felt in Bikaner, No Casualties Reported

An earthquake was felt in Bikaner at 12:58 PM on Sunday, causing panic among residents. Many people rushed out of their homes, offices, and buildings as the tremors were experienced for a few seconds. The tremors were strong enough to cause windows and store items to shake, making them clearly noticeable. Fortunately, no loss of life or property damage was reported. The epicenter was located at a distance from Bikaner, and the earthquake’s intensity remained low.

Residents took to the streets, checking on the safety of their family members following the tremors. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
