Earthquake Tremors Felt in Bikaner, Magnitude 3.6 on Richter Scale

Bikaner, February 2 : An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was recorded in Bikaner and surrounding areas on Sunday at 12:58 PM. The tremors caused panic among residents, leading many to rush out of their homes and offices.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), India, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 72 kilometers away from Bikaner, in Mehramsar near Jasrasar, at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface.

Residents Panic as Earthquake Strikes

Eyewitnesses reported that buildings and objects trembled as the earthquake hit. Several locals, including Ramkumar Harsh and other residents, confirmed experiencing the tremors. The earthquake also affected areas beyond Bikaner, including Nokha and Lunkaransar.

Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported so far. However, the sudden tremors left residents in a state of fear and uncertainty.

Tremors Captured on CCTV in Various Locations

Authorities and local officials, including Shyam Narayan Ranga from the Public Health Engineering Department, confirmed that tremors were felt across multiple regions of the city. Reports suggest that in certain locations, CCTV cameras recorded the shaking of the ground and buildings, further verifying the intensity of the tremors.

The seismic activity in the region highlights the need for earthquake preparedness, particularly in areas susceptible to such occurrences. While no immediate damage was recorded, residents are advised to stay alert and follow safety protocols in case of future seismic events.
