Cold Wave Alert in Rajasthan: Temperatures Drop by 7°C After Rainfall, More Chill Expected in Shekhawati

Jaipur, February 6 : Cold conditions have intensified across Rajasthan following recent rainfall, with temperatures dropping by up to 7°C in several cities, including Sikar, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, and Udaipur.

The coldest temperature was recorded in Fatehpur (Sikar district) at 3.6°C. Meteorologists predict further temperature decline over the next 24 to 48 hours, prompting a Yellow Alert for cold wave conditions in parts of the Shekhawati region, including Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Nagaur.

Cold Wave Tightens Grip on Rajasthan

Significant Drop in Temperatures Across Rajasthan

Over the past 24 hours, clear skies prevailed across Rajasthan, but the cold wave effect was evident at night. Several cities, including Dausa, Fatehpur, Sikar, Churu, Karauli, Jalore, Sirohi, and Hanumangarh, recorded minimum temperatures below 10°C.

Shekhawati Shivers as Cold Winds Intensify

In the Shekhawati region, comprising Churu, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu, along with Jaipur, Alwar, and Hanumangarh, cold northerly winds increased the chill factor by Wednesday evening. These areas continued to experience mild cold conditions even during the daytime.

🔹 Jaipur: 24.9°C
🔹 Pilani (Jhunjhunu): 24.7°C
🔹 Sikar: 23°C
🔹 Hanumangarh: 22.6°C
🔹 Karauli: 23.9°C

The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Barmer at 28.7°C, followed by Dungarpur (26.5°C), Jalore (27.1°C), Jaisalmer-Jodhpur (26.4°C), Chittorgarh (26.6°C), Udaipur (24.3°C), Kota (25.5°C), and Ajmer (25.3°C).

Cold Wave Alert Issued for Several Districts

The Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued a Yellow Alert for cold wave conditions in Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Nagaur on Thursday. In addition, Alwar, Jaipur, and Dausa are also expected to experience chilly winds during the morning and evening hours.

Dry Weather Expected Until February 9

Weather experts predict that dry conditions will persist in Rajasthan until February 9, with bright sunshine during the daytime. However, temperatures in Shekhawati are expected to drop further over the next 24 hours, leading to an increase in cold conditions across the region.
