Jaipur, February 8 The cold spell in Rajasthan continues as northern winds keep temperatures low across the state. On Friday, several cities, including Sikar, Udaipur, and Kota, witnessed a drop of up to 3°C in maximum daytime temperatures. The chilly breeze persisted throughout the day, making the cold more intense. Minimum temperatures in four cities fell below 5°C.
Cold Spell to Continue, Relief Expected from Sunday
The Jaipur Meteorological Center has predicted that Saturday will remain cold, but from Sunday onwards, the weakening of northern winds will lead to a rise in temperatures, providing some relief from the biting cold.

On Friday, the maximum temperatures recorded were:
- Sirohi 21.6°C
- Fatehpur 23.6°C
- Mount Abu 22.4°C
- Hanumangarh & Baran 22.9°C
- Churu 24.5°C
- Bikaner 24.8°C
- Udaipur 23.8°C
- Kota 24°C
- Sikar & Alwar 22°C
- Jaipur 24.7°C
These cities experienced mild cold winds throughout the day.
Western Rajasthan Experiences Cloud Cover
On Friday afternoon, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jalore, and Jodhpur experienced partly cloudy skies. The maximum temperatures recorded in these regions were:
- Barmer 29°C
- Jaisalmer 26.5°C
- Jodhpur 27.3°C
- Phalodi 26.6°C
- Chittorgarh 27.4°C
- Dungarpur 27.2°C
- Jalore 28.3°C
Lowest Minimum Temperatures Recorded
Several cities are still under the grip of a cold wave, with minimum temperatures dropping below 5°C:
- Fatehpur (Sikar) 2.1°C (Coldest in the state)
- Mount Abu 4°C
- Nagaur 4.3°C
- Karauli 3.8°C
Weather Outlook for Rajasthan
The Jaipur Meteorological Center forecasts dry weather on Saturday with mild cold winds in northwestern Rajasthan. Morning and evening temperatures will remain low, maintaining a chilly atmosphere.
From February 9, western winds will begin influencing the state’s weather, causing a gradual increase in temperature and bringing relief from the cold.
