Patna, February 6 A devastating accident occurred in Jamui district, Bihar, late last night when a tractor returning from a Saraswati idol immersion overturned into a 15-feet deep ditch. The accident resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals, while four others sustained serious injuries.
Accident Details: How the Tragedy Unfolded
The incident took place near Sugia Tand village in the Malaypur police station area. According to eyewitnesses, the tractor lost balance and overturned while carrying a group of young men who had just completed the Saraswati idol immersion ceremony.
One of the injured victims, Sakaldeep Yadav’s mother, shared that seven individuals were trapped under the tractor’s engine and trolley for nearly 30 minutes before rescue efforts began. Upon receiving information, Malaypur police and local villagers rushed to the spot and managed to pull out all seven trapped individuals. Unfortunately, three of them had already succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Rescue and Medical Assistance
The four critically injured individuals were immediately transported to the Sadar Hospital using motorcycles and police vehicles. Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar, who was attending the victims at Sadar Hospital, found three of them in critical condition and referred them to PMCH Patna for advanced medical treatment.

Police Investigation Underway
Malaypur Police Station In-Charge, Vikas Kumar Singh, confirmed the incident, stating that a detailed investigation is being conducted. The tractor involved in the accident has been seized, and authorities are examining the exact cause of the mishap.
The district administration has urged people to follow safety measures while using heavy vehicles during religious processions to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
