Jaipur, February 7 The mercury in Rajasthan continues to plummet due to the impact of cold northern winds. The night temperatures in five cities across the state have dipped below 5°C, with Fatehpur recording the coldest night at 2.1°C. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the temperature drop will soon stabilize.

No Cold Wave Expected in the Coming Days
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Department, the state is expected to experience dry weather for the next week. While temperatures in most parts of Rajasthan remain within the normal range, the Shekhawati region has recorded minimum temperatures between 2°C and 4°C. Over the next 48 hours, both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The cold wave conditions are unlikely to persist further.
Temperature Plummets Across 21 Cities
The night temperatures in 21 cities across Rajasthan have fallen below 10°C. Apart from Fatehpur (2.1°C), several other cities recorded significant dips, including:
- Karauli: 3.8°C
- Mount Abu: 4.0°C
- Nagaur: 4.3°C
- Lunkaransar: 4.6°C
Meanwhile, Barmer remained the warmest city, registering a maximum temperature of 29°C and a minimum of 12.2°C.
Jaipur Experiences Chilly Mornings and Evenings
The impact of northern winds has caused a steady decline in Jaipur’s temperature, making mornings and evenings particularly chilly. However, the intensity of the cold is reduced during the daytime due to strong sunlight. Jaipur also witnessed moderate wind conditions throughout the day.
Jaipur’s daytime temperature recorded a slight increase of 0.5°C, while the night temperature dropped by 0.2°C. The maximum temperature in Jaipur stood at 24.7°C, with the minimum temperature at 10.2°C.
