Samsung is gearing up to launch its next-generation mid-range smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy A36 and Samsung Galaxy A56, likely in the first quarter of 2025. This follows the launch pattern seen with the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy A35/A55 series earlier this year. Recently, a new report has revealed details about the camera specifications of the Galaxy A36, indicating some significant upgrades.

Key Camera Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A36

According to a GalaxyClub report, the Samsung Galaxy A36 will feature a 50MP primary rear camera, just like its predecessor, the Galaxy A35. However, the most notable change will be at the front, where Samsung has opted for a 12MP selfie camera, replacing the 13MP lens seen on previous models. Although this may appear as a downgrade, the report suggests that the new 12MP sensor could be a substantial upgrade compared to the older 13MP sensor, which was used in earlier Galaxy A3X models.

Interestingly, Samsung seems to be differentiating between the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56, as the A36’s 12MP front camera will not be the same as the 12MP sensor on the A56. This distinction suggests that the A56 will be positioned as a slightly more premium option in the Galaxy A lineup, providing a qualitative difference between the two models.

Additional Camera Features

While details about the macro and ultra-wide cameras on the Galaxy A36 are still unclear, it is expected that they will be similar to those found on last year’s model. This would likely include:

  • 5MP macro camera
  • 8MP ultra-wide camera

Design and Benchmarks

Leaks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy A36 may feature a more prominent camera island, with the individual lenses more integrated into the rear panel, giving the device a sleeker appearance.

Additionally, the Galaxy A36 has already been spotted on Geekbench, hinting that it will be powered by a Qualcomm chipset. The device is expected to feature either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, along with 6GB of RAM and the latest Android 15 operating system.

Expected Price and Launch Details

While the exact price of the Samsung Galaxy A36 is yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated to fall within the price range of its predecessors, around €350 (₹31,175) to €400 (₹35,630).

The Samsung Galaxy A36 is shaping up to be a competitive mid-range smartphone, especially for those who prioritize camera performance, with an impressive 50MP rear camera and upgraded 12MP selfie camera. It will be interesting to see how this model performs against rivals in the mid-range segment once it launches.
