Samsung is gearing up to roll out its highly anticipated One UI 7.0 update, but not without a few notable changes. Among them, the tech giant has confirmed it will discontinue Edge Panel downloads from the Galaxy Store once devices are updated to the new software version.
What Does This Mean for Users?
After upgrading to One UI 7.0, users will no longer have the option to download new Edge Panels from the Galaxy Store. However, any Edge Panels already downloaded and installed before the update will remain accessible. These will be available in the Galaxy Store’s “My Apps” section, even after the software upgrade.
That said, if users uninstall these panels post-update, they won’t be able to re-download them, marking a significant limitation for customization enthusiasts.
New Device Users Face Restrictions
Interestingly, the restriction extends to new Samsung devices running One UI 7.0 or later. While users of these devices will still be able to download Edge Panels previously installed on older devices via the “My Apps” section, they won’t have access to new or additional Edge Panels from the Galaxy Store.
