Pilgrims returning from Mahakal temple in Ujjain met with a tragic accident
Indore, February 7 (Hindustan Samachar) A horrific road accident occurred near Mhow in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district early Friday morning, resulting in the deaths of four people, including two pilgrims from Maharashtra. Seventeen others were injured in the crash and have been rushed to MY Hospital for treatment. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

How the Accident Happened
According to reports, a group of pilgrims from Karnataka village in Maharashtra had visited the Mahakal temple in Ujjain on Thursday evening. After completing their darshan, they were returning to their hometown in a traveler van when tragedy struck around 3 AM near Manpur. The vehicle first hit a motorcycle before crashing into a tanker.
The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate deaths of two bike riders and two female pilgrims traveling in the van. Seventeen others sustained injuries, and emergency responders transported them to MY Hospital. The accident also caused a traffic jam on the road, which was later cleared by the police.
Victims Identified, Investigation Underway
Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar from Manpur police station confirmed the identities of the two deceased bike riders as Himanshu from Dharampuri and Shubham from Sendhwa. The two deceased women from the traveler are yet to be identified.
Among the injured, one child has been admitted to the PICU in critical condition. Authorities are working to contact the families of the victims while an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
