Chennai, February 7 A flight en route from Muscat, Oman, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, made an emergency landing at Chennai International Airport on Friday due to a medical emergency involving a passenger. The flight was diverted after the passenger complained of severe discomfort mid-air.

According to sources, the passenger started experiencing sudden uneasiness while the aircraft was flying near Chennai airspace. The flight’s pilot immediately contacted Chennai International Airport authorities, requesting permission for an emergency landing.
A spokesperson from Chennai International Airport confirmed that, considering the medical emergency, the flight was granted clearance for landing and safely touched down at approximately 2 PM. Upon landing, medical teams rushed to assist the passenger, who was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the medical intervention, the flight resumed its journey to Kuala Lumpur after a brief delay.
The airport spokesperson stated, “Passenger safety and well-being remain our top priority. We appreciate the swift coordination between airport authorities, medical teams, and airline staff in handling the situation efficiently.”
