Cold Wave Continues in Rajasthan, Temperature Drops Below 10°C
The cold wave has returned across several parts of India, bringing rain, snowfall, and freezing winds. Due to continuous rainfall and snowfall in northern states, the temperature has dropped sharply in many areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert, warning of cold winds, dense fog, and further temperature drops.

1⃣ Rajasthan: Cold Wave Intensifies
Cold conditions persist in several parts of Rajasthan, with the minimum temperature dropping below 10°C in multiple cities. The lowest temperature of 2.8°C was recorded in Fatehpur, Sikar district, in the past 24 hours.

Fatehpur (Sikar): 2.8°C
Sikar: 3.5°C
Nagaur & Lunkaransar: 3.8°C
Karauli: 4.4°C
Dausa: 5.1°C
Sangaria: 5.2°C
Jaipur also experienced a cold day, with a maximum temperature of 24.9°C and a minimum temperature of 10.4°C.
2⃣ Delhi-NCR: Chilly Mornings and Strong Winds
Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 9.05°C today, with clear skies expected during the day.
Strong cold winds are making morning and evening temperatures feel even lower.
On Thursday, Delhi recorded 8.2°C, which is 1.2 degrees below the seasonal average.
3⃣ Himachal Pradesh: Heavy Snowfall & Temperature Drop
Continuous snowfall in higher altitudes has led to a sharp drop in temperature across Himachal Pradesh.
Key temperature drops recorded:
Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti): -12.2°C (coldest in the state)
Gondla: 9 cm snowfall
Keylong: 6 cm snowfall
Kalpa: 3.6 cm snowfall
Kothi: 2.5 cm snowfall
Manali and Dalhousie also experienced rainfall, recording 20mm and 7mm, respectively. The cold wave remains severe in Chamba, Una, and Berthin, while dense fog warnings have been issued for various areas.
4⃣ Jammu & Kashmir: Extreme Cold Continues
Cold weather prevails in Kashmir, with temperatures plunging below freezing in multiple locations.
Key temperatures in Jammu & Kashmir:
Gulmarg: -10.0°C
Pahalgam: -6.0°C
Srinagar: -1.0°C
The weather department has predicted dry conditions in most parts of Kashmir for the coming days, with light rain and snowfall expected on February 9.
What’s Next? Weather Forecast for the Coming Days
A fresh western disturbance is likely to impact the Himalayan region from February 8 to 12, bringing rain and snowfall to Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Rajasthan will remain cold until February 8, after which temperatures are expected to rise gradually.
Delhi and NCR will continue experiencing cold mornings with mild chilly winds.
Dense fog is likely in some areas of Himachal, Rajasthan, and northern states.
