Popular music streaming platform Spotify is stepping up to compete with YouTube by introducing a new video service. Now, creators can earn money by uploading video podcasts on Spotify. This new feature, named the “Partner Program,” allows creators to monetize their video content through third-party ads displayed on their videos. Previously, Spotify only offered podcast monetization; now, it is encouraging creators to make and earn from video content as well.
Monetize Podcast Videos on Spotify
Similar to YouTube, Spotify’s Partner Program allows creators to earn revenue based on engagement with their podcast videos—the more views, the greater the earnings. However, Spotify has yet to reveal exact revenue figures for 1,000 or 100,000 views. Premium subscribers will soon be able to watch podcast videos ad-free, potentially drawing YouTube users to Spotify to watch their favorite creators’ content.
Spotify has announced that those interested in monetizing their content through the Partner Program can apply starting January 2, 2025. Initially, this service will be available in the U.S., U.K., Australia, and Canada, with earnings beginning after monetization approval.

Spotify has hinted at additional upcoming features for video creators, which are expected to include tools like comments, zoom, and improved search options to enhance video discoverability and engagement. Creators can also upload short videos across the app, allowing them to promote longer videos effectively.
