Samsung is gearing up to unveil its next-generation flagship series, the Galaxy S25, expected to launch globally in January next year. The series will initially include three models: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Recently, the base model, Galaxy S25, appeared on Geekbench, revealing some key specifications and performance metrics.

Geekbench Listing: Galaxy S25 Overview

The Galaxy S25, with model number SM-S931N, surfaced on Geekbench, believed to be the Korean variant. The listing confirms the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, a custom-tuned version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

  • Processor Details:
    • Standard Snapdragon 8 Elite clocks at 4.32 GHz, while the custom Galaxy version offers a slightly higher clock speed of 4.47 GHz.
    • The model tested included 12 GB RAM, indicative of the base variant’s potential power.

Disappointing Geekbench Scores

Despite the powerful hardware, the Galaxy S25’s benchmark results are underwhelming:

  • Single-Core Score: 2481
  • Multi-Core Score: 8658

These results fall short when compared to competitors like the OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13, which scored approximately 3100 (single-core) and 10,000 (multi-core), respectively.

Possible Reasons for Low Scores

  1. Thermal Management:
    • Samsung might have opted for a smaller cooling system in the base model, limiting sustained performance.
  2. Optimization Issues:
    • Early firmware or unoptimized software could be affecting scores, with potential improvements before the official release.

It’s important to note that benchmark results don’t always reflect real-world performance, and the final product might deliver better results.

Good News for Indian and European Markets

Renowned tipster Ice Universe confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will feature Snapdragon processors globally, including in India and Europe. This means no Exynos or MediaTek variants, which were previously criticized for performance discrepancies.

Takeaway

While the Galaxy S25’s initial Geekbench performance might disappoint, Samsung’s flagship series has consistently delivered robust real-world user experiences. With the global launch of Snapdragon-powered models, Indian and European consumers can look forward to a consistent and powerful performance.

Stay tuned for further updates as the launch date approaches!
