NEET 2025: Exam Scheduled for May 4, Online Applications Begin

Udaipur, February 8 The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the application process for NEET UG, India’s largest medical entrance examination.

NEET UG Exam Details:
Education counselor Vikas Chhajed stated that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode on May 4, in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The last date for application submission is March 7, and candidates can apply through the official NTA website.

Who Can Apply for NEET UG?

NEET UG is the qualifying entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses, including:

  • MBBS
  • BDS
  • BAMS
  • BHMS
  • BUMS
  • BSMS
  • Military Nursing Services (B.Sc. Nursing)
  • 4-year Nursing programs

NEET UG 2025 Application Fee

  • General category: ₹1,700
  • EWS & OBC categories: ₹1,600
  • SC/ST/PwD categories: ₹1,000
  • Foreign candidates: ₹9,500

Exam Pattern

The 3-hour exam will consist of 180 questions for a total of 720 marks, with a marking scheme as follows:

  • Physics: 45 questions
  • Chemistry: 45 questions
  • Biology (Botany & Zoology): 90 questions
  • Correct answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect answer: -1 mark (negative marking applicable)

NEET UG Age Criteria

  • Minimum Age: 17 years (as of December 31, 2025)
  • No Upper Age Limit

NEET UG for Studying Medicine Abroad

As per the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and National Medical Commission (NMC), any Indian citizen or OCI cardholder wishing to pursue medical studies abroad must qualify NEET UG to be eligible for medical licensing in India.

Exam Languages

NEET UG will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
