Bhopal, February 4 The weather in Madhya Pradesh is undergoing a noticeable shift, with early signs of summer making an appearance. Even though February has just begun, several districts have already recorded temperatures as high as 34°C, signaling an early onset of warm conditions.

According to the Meteorological Department, while daytime heat continues to rise, nighttime temperatures have also climbed significantly. However, a drop in temperature is expected in the next two days, offering temporary relief before the mercury soars again later this month.

Adding to this climatic transition, the weather office has issued a fog alert for certain districts today, particularly in the Gwalior-Chambal and Ujjain divisions, where light fog is expected in the morning.

What’s Causing the Rising Temperatures?

🔹 Western Disturbance: The rise in daytime and nighttime temperatures is attributed to the impact of western disturbances, which have led to clear skies and warm conditions.
🔹 Decreasing Winter Influence: As February progresses, the cold wave influence is diminishing, causing the state to transition from winter to pre-summer.
🔹 Temporary Cloud Cover & Fog: Despite rising temperatures, fog and slight cloud cover have been observed in Gwalior-Chambal and Ujjain divisions due to localized climatic factors.

Weather Forecast: Will It Get Cooler Again?

Relief is in sight! According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperatures may drop slightly in the next two days, providing a brief respite from the heat.

📍 Key Weather Predictions:
✔ February 5: Daytime heat will persist, but nights and mornings will remain cool.
✔ February 8: A western disturbance is expected to become active, causing a temporary dip in temperatures.
✔ February 12-14: Parts of Madhya Pradesh may witness light rainfall, further impacting the weather conditions.
✔ February 20 Onwards: The winter effect will almost disappear, and temperatures will continue rising steadily.

Residents React to the Sudden Warmth

Many residents across Madhya Pradesh have started feeling the early summer heat, prompting them to switch back to lighter clothing.

A resident from Bhopal, Amit Sharma, shared:
“It’s surprising how quickly winter disappeared! Just last week, we were wearing jackets, and now it feels like summer already.”

Similarly, Seema Dubey from Indore said:
“The afternoons are getting hotter, but mornings are still pleasant. If this continues, we might see a very early summer this year!”

What’s Next for Madhya Pradesh’s Weather?

✔ More heatwaves expected in March-April If current trends continue, March might bring above-average heat levels.
✔ Watch for western disturbances Any active western disturbance could bring sporadic rainfall or cloudy conditions, offering momentary relief.
✔ Stay Hydrated & Prepared With temperatures rising early this year, it’s best to stay hydrated and take precautions against unexpected heatwaves.

The transition from winter to summer in Madhya Pradesh is happening faster than expected, and if temperatures keep rising at this rate, 2025 might bring one of the hottest summers in recent years.
